Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye (Esq) is a legal practitioner with a strong background spanning Law, Management Information Systems, Economics and Mathematics. Over 27 years of unbroken, dedicated service at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), he has grown from a technical contributor to the institution's highest administrative office — Registrar, appointed with effect from 1st November, 2024.

His career trajectory is as rare as it is impressive. He was a core architect of the UCC Online Information System (UCCOSIS), and when external developers departed, his counsel to decline an expensive maintenance agreement saved the university significant recurring costs. He then managed the system personally for a decade before ascending into academic directorship.

With versatile skillsets spanning leadership, law, information systems, mathematics and economics, Gideon has provided technological and administrative leadership across the Registrar's Office, Students' Records Section, and as Director, Directorate of Academic Affairs. His performance in each role has consistently exceeded expectations.

He has served — as Secretary, Member, or Chairman — on key statutory boards and committees including Governing Council, Academic Board, Administration Appointments and Promotions Committee, and the Registrar's Appointments and Promotions Committee.
